  • Brief Description: The Senior Telesales Agent conducts selling activities related to inbound calls inquiring about individual health plan products. They work with moderately complex to complex issues, qualify prospects, and attempt to close sales. They may originate calls from leads and handle calls requiring interpreters or TTY services.

Requirements

  • Active Health Insurance License: Required
  • Bilingual in English and Cantonese: Required (Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both languages without limitations or assistance)
  • Strong Verbal Communication Skills: Required
  • Customer Engagement: Ability to connect meaningfully with customers to build emotional engagement and customer advocacy.
  • Adaptability: Easily adapt to learning new software/programs and follows call flow processes and procedures.
  • Availability: Must be available and willing to work any shift between 7:00 am — 2:00 am including weekends and overtime during peak season (approximately September - December).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct selling activities related to inbound calls inquiring about individual health plan products.
  • Qualify prospects and attempt to close sales.
  • Handle consumer calls that may require the use of an interpreter or TTY service.
  • May originate calls from leads.
  • Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives.
  • Begin to influence department’s strategy.
  • Make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components.
  • Work with considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Additional Information

  • Language Proficiency Assessment (LPA): Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the LPA in that language(s) and English.
