Passionate and dedicated mental health professional
Ability to work part-time weekends (Saturday 7am-7pm and Sunday 7am-7pm) in Springfield, MO
Skills to monitor patients, assist with daily living, de-escalate situations, and enforce safety protocols
Capability to plan, lead, and evaluate therapeutic activities and groups
Proficiency in milieu management, documentation, and report writing using electronic health records or paper methods
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, nurses, and therapists
Knowledge to implement treatment plans and educate clients on psychiatric concepts, coping mechanisms, and relapse prevention
Ability to assist with discharge planning and aftercare coordination

Responsibilities

Actively monitor assigned patients, attend to immediate needs, assist with daily living tasks, de-escalate volatile situations, enforce safety protocols, prevent self-harm attempts, and notify nursing or physicians of changes in condition
Plan, lead, and evaluate recreation-oriented, leisure, and occupational therapy sessions to foster skill acquisition, symptom reduction, cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, stress tolerance, and relaxation techniques
Maintain orderly, clean, and organized living spaces, common areas, and patient rooms while promoting prosocial behaviors, encouraging peer interaction, and reinforcing positive behaviors consistent with treatment goals
Accurately chart observations, interventions, encounters, and incident reports according to facility policies, ensuring timely submission for review
Work alongside psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, psychotherapists, and other professionals to optimize care, share insights, and participate in meetings on patient status, goals, and discharge planning
Carry out assigned aspects of individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological regimens, psychosocial rehabilitation, milieu-based interventions, and adjunctive therapies
Teach basic psychiatric concepts, symptom recognition, triggers, relapse prevention, coping mechanisms, and self-management techniques to promote client autonomy and self-efficacy
Help prepare patients for discharge by arranging follow-up appointments, linking to community resources, and coordinating ongoing support to minimize readmissions
Prioritize personal wellbeing through mindfulness, exercise, stress-reduction, debriefings, and maintaining a stable work-life balance
