  • Strong interpersonal skills for professional and assertive communication with patients, support systems, external professionals, colleagues, and supervisors
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within specified timeframes
  • Highly proficient in verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of walking, sitting, standing, lifting a minimum of 20 pounds, reaching, handling, grasping, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, kneeling, and flexible movements
  • Must be able to successfully complete aggression control training
  • Exposure to aggressive/combative patients

Responsibilities

  • Provide cognitive behavioral and other therapeutic services, including groups, to patients according to clinical standards under supervision of the Clinical leader
  • Participate in supervision sessions with the Clinical leader, communicate on patient progress, and suggest adjustments to care plans
  • Regularly monitor effectiveness of interventions, administer outcome measures, review results, and modify interventions as needed in consultation with Clinical leader
  • Document mental health services, including therapeutic treatment plans, outcome assessments, psychosocial information, and patient care data, according to regulations and payer expectations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and assist in development of treatment plans
  • Communicate treatment interventions and support needs for assigned caseload to interdisciplinary team members and support systems
  • Offer training support to direct care team members (e.g., MHT, nurses, clinic assistants) on cognitive behavioral treatment interventions
  • Provide parent or support person training and education on supporting CBT interventions and behavioral treatment plans, including positive reinforcement, modeling behaviors, and strategies for challenging situations
  • Ensure patient safety and facility safety
  • Support changes in staffing/scheduling as needed for program and patient care
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as maintaining knowledge of department processes, pursuing continuing education, and participating in committees or work groups
