Requirements

  • BCBA or NY LBA certification and Master’s degree required
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Must maintain certification/licensure
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer software; aptitude to learn new software
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently and assist in lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs
  • Meet requirements to drive company vehicles
  • Ability to perform all physical interventions

Responsibilities

  • Lead the process for conducting functional behavior assessments (direct and indirect)
  • Conduct regular and formal behavior observations across environments, including staff interviews and documentation in clinical notes; adjust interventions/plans accordingly
  • Develop and implement behavior support plans using current and ethical practices
  • Develop behavioral goals for IEPs in collaboration with treatment team members
  • Create data collection systems; monitor, graph, and analyze data pertaining to behavior plans
  • Collaborate with staff on behavior problems and replacement behaviors
  • Provide direct care in classroom or residential settings to model interventions for staff
  • Respond to School Crisis Team calls and assist with behavioral emergencies
  • Attend and participate in team meetings regularly
  • Provide supervision to BCBAs in training as assigned
  • Consult with professionals and serve as a resource on psychology-related issues within competency
  • Participate in psychiatric clinic/appointments as needed
  • Utilize the Human Rights Committee for restrictive interventions as needed
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding behavioral status and obtain approvals
  • Adhere to ethical standards, organization policies/procedures, and oversight agency regulations (OPWDD, NYSED)
  • Fulfill any other requirements/responsibilities as assigned
