Position: Backend Software Engineering Manager (Billing Engineer)

This role focuses on expanding and optimizing Philo’s billing offerings, ensuring a smooth and efficient payment experience for users. As a member of a growing team, you’ll provide technical leadership and serve as an internal subject matter expert on payment and subscription operations.

Requirements

  • Collaboration skills with marketing, support, finance, and data science teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to the billing team.
  • Enhance, implement, deploy, and monitor the Philo multi-biller billing system.
  • Collaborate with partners to engineer billing platform solutions.
  • Optimize billing performance, including increasing conversion rates and tuning dunning performance.
  • Work with the marketing team on promotions and packaging.
  • Assist the support team with billing issues and errors.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on accounting and compliance.
  • Work with the data science team on instrumentation and analysis of KPIs.

Additional Information

  • The manager is expected to spend approximately 80% of their time on hands-on technical project tasks (coding, designing, scoping, researching, etc.) and 20% on team management and coaching.
