Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, demonstrating expertise in backend development with proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, and at least one other server-side language. Strong knowledge of SQL, particularly with PostgreSQL, including query optimization and database modeling is required, along with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Experience in designing scalable systems for high-volume performance and handling concurrency is essential. Familiarity with API development, including JWT tokens and security considerations, is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Backend Engineer will collaborate in a cross-functional team to develop and enhance features, APIs, and continuously improve Deel’s products. They will be responsible for finding and fixing bugs at ‘Deel Speed,’ providing an exceptional, customer-centric experience, and participating in product planning from discovery to deployment. They will also contribute to database management, ensuring data integrity and optimizing performance, and help scale systems to meet increasing demands.
