Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 3 years of industry experience building and maintaining scalable high-quality software, proficiency in Python is required, experience building both event-driven and request-driven microservices, familiarity with TypeScript is a bonus, a strong understanding of the AWS menu of services, hands-on experience with SQL, and experience deploying, supporting, and operating applications running on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

The Backend Engineer II will build and maintain the back-end services that power Garner’s core business, participate in an on-call rotation by responding to system outages and support escalations from internal stakeholders, collaborate across disciplines to provide timely and accurate technical designs, work estimates, and answers to technical questions, protect users’ privacy and security through best practices, design and optimize for the long term while moving fast and iteratively deliver for the short term, ideate on new features and work with data to find new insights, research and work with the latest tools and technologies, and collaborate using the company’s tech stack.
