Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and hold an active TS/SCI clearance. A minimum of 5 years of backend software development experience is required, with strong proficiency in Java (including Spring Boot and JVM) and Python for backend development, scripting, and automation. Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven architectures and Kubernetes for container orchestration (including Rancher) are essential. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Openstack, or OpenShift, excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, and strong communication abilities are also necessary. Experience with agile scrum methodologies is required.

Responsibilities

The Backend Cloud Application Developer will design, develop, and implement scalable backend services using Java and Python, building and maintaining event-driven microservices architecture with Apache Kafka and JVM. Responsibilities include orchestrating and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes and Rancher, collaborating with teams on feature deployment, optimizing application performance and reliability, implementing security best practices, conducting code reviews, mentoring junior developers, troubleshooting complex issues, and documenting technical designs and procedures.
