The Infra Engineering Team

The Infra Engineering team is responsible for supporting Deel's engineering growth by building a platform that empowers product teams to deliver business value faster. Deel is at a stage where it requires a robust platform, yet is young enough to build it from the ground up. While a dedicated DevOps team manages the infrastructure, our team operates at the intersection of DevOps and engineering, enforcing standards, creating tooling, maintaining internal libraries, providing architectural guidance, and owning high-load core services. We also respond to production incidents when necessary. The role is approximately 65% engineering and 35% DevOps, offering significant freedom coupled with responsibility.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Back-End Engineer.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
  • Experience with Node.js, Postgres/Mysql, and RabbitMq/Nats/Kafka.
  • Experience with infrastructure, observability, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong system design and problem-solving skills, particularly in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Nice to Have:
  • Experience building Internal Developer Platforms and tooling.
• Soft Skills:
  • Hands-on troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to orchestrate projects involving 10+ teams.
  • Readiness to embrace challenges.
