The Senior Dev/Ops Engineer requires 5+ years’ experience in a DevOps, SRE, engineering, or related role, a Bachelor’s degree, strong communication skills, willingness to travel occasionally, and the ability to work independently and learn new technologies quickly. Strong knowledge of essential AWS components, services, and networks (EC2, VPC, CloudWatch, S3, IAM) is required, with experience in other AWS components (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, DynamoDB, EMR) being a plus. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to see the big picture are also necessary.
The Senior Dev/Ops Engineer will take a lead role in supporting business-critical services within an AWS cloud hosting environment, providing architecture, solutioning, and implementation support using modern approaches like containers and Kubernetes. They will write code/scripts as needed, lead DevOps projects including stakeholder communication and change management, develop and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines, understand and maintain application and deployment environments, create and maintain AWS infrastructure, implement and support observability and alerting tools, document troubleshooting steps, champion cloud and application security best practices, and implement infrastructure-as-code approaches via Terraform, Cloudformation, or AWS CDK. They will also be available for an on-call rotation schedule to troubleshoot problems and incidents.
