Aerospace EEE Component Engineer

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent industry experience, and a minimum of two years of experience in mechanical or avionics hardware design. They should be able to route harnessing strategically in both CAD and physically within the airplane, and have experience working with connectors, backshells, EMI shielding, and cable/wire protection methods. A strong understanding of structural mounts and their design analysis is also required, along with a passion for spatial packaging and logical, inquisitive problem-solving skills.
As an Avionics Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define hardware interfaces, design detailed harnesses including routing, design and test enclosures for environmental protection, and design structural mounts for securing hardware in the airplane. You will have the opportunity to design, install, and test hardware on remotely operated aircraft and be instrumental in integrating hardware teams onto the airplane. You will also be responsible for performing design trades and detail design of aerospace flight harnesses, potentially working with certification-path aviation development projects, and testing hardware to DO-160 requirements.
