Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years)
1+ year of leadership responsibility
Demonstrated project leadership and consultancy skills with ability to function as an effective and respected partner to internal clients
Fundamental management skills
Strong knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices with sophisticated analytical and quantitative skills
Ability to apply advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise to analysis
Good business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments
Proven ability to research and analyze a P&L statement to explain the reason for variances
Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data
Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity
Demonstrates strong presence and good presentation skills
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Ability to balance and deliver against competing demands
Ability to learn and utilize financial system

Responsibilities

Oversees preparation of reports and analyses in support of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and ongoing financial activities
Provides decision support to business management through the creation of decision tools, models, presentations, and dashboards
Leads forecasting and budgeting processes for assigned business units and/or functional areas
Collaborates with operational management and cross-functional teams to identify problems and develop solutions
Utilizes existing financial systems to their fullest extent
Makes recommendations on system and process improvements to streamline processes and improve efficiency and quality of reporting
Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations
Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations
Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime
Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the unit
