Requirements

J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law
5+ years of experience as an attorney
Experience either in-house, at a law firm, law enforcement, or governmental agency advising on legal and regulatory issues around cybersecurity, privacy, and data (GLBA, HIPAA, CCPA, NYDFS)
Excellent drafting and communication skills
Collaborative, nimble, responsive, and customer-focused
CIPP-US Certification preferred
Government agency experience preferred

Responsibilities

Advising on legal, regulatory, and contractual issues regarding cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance issues across AIG’s Americas regions
Drafting and maintaining cybersecurity and privacy contract templates and assisting in contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners
Supporting incident response and investigation matters, ensuring compliance with applicable law
Identifying and analyzing new laws, regulations, and industry best practices in the cybersecurity, privacy, and data areas, and working with cross-functional teams to implement necessary governance and controls
Developing and supporting initiatives to enhance and mature cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance practices across AIG
Serving as a thought leader in the community on specialized legal and regulatory topics for internal and external stakeholders, including industry groups
