Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law
  • 5+ years of experience as an attorney
  • Experience either in-house, at a law firm, law enforcement, or governmental agency advising on legal and regulatory issues around cybersecurity, privacy, and data (GLBA, HIPAA, CCPA, NYDFS)
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • Collaborative, nimble, responsive, and customer-focused
  • CIPP-US Certification preferred
  • Government agency experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Advising on legal, regulatory, and contractual issues regarding cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance issues across AIG’s Americas regions
  • Drafting and maintaining cybersecurity and privacy contract templates and assisting in contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners
  • Supporting incident response and investigation matters, ensuring compliance with applicable law
  • Identifying and analyzing new laws, regulations, and industry best practices in the cybersecurity, privacy, and data areas, and working with cross-functional teams to implement necessary governance and controls
  • Developing and supporting initiatives to enhance and mature cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance practices across AIG
  • Serving as a thought leader in the community on specialized legal and regulatory topics for internal and external stakeholders, including industry groups
