Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; nonprofit or higher education experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • ERP system experience (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, Banner, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with a commitment to accuracy and detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end and year-end close cycles, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee general ledger activity including reconciliations, journal entries, financial schedules, and variance analysis
  • Support annual audit processes and coordinate deliverables with external auditors
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance
  • Partner closely with internal departments to provide financial insights and ensure accounting accuracy
  • Support grant and restricted fund accounting and reporting (as applicable)
  • Mentor and guide accounting staff while fostering strong teamwork and development
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and ongoing monitoring
  • Identify and support process improvements and ERP system optimization
