  • High School diploma/GED or basic skills assessment
  • 6 months of assembly related experience preferred
  • Experience in fast paced industrial lean environment preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to be trained on and perform all assembly line operations
  • Ability to visually inspect and assemble small components to quality standards
  • Ability to use hand-held gages
  • Ability to work with automatic transmission fluid
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to safely operate all equipment in the Assembly department
  • Ability to read and understand job aids/work instructions or follow oral instructions
  • Ability to manually load, unload, and maneuver materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves
  • Ability to stand for long periods, including during operation of stand-up lifts
  • Ability to lift shoulder high up to 35 lbs. repetitively
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion activities (assembly, walking, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts)
  • Occasional ability to climb steps
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus
  • Key competencies: Safety, Judgement/Decision Making, Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills, Attendance, Attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Ability to wear all required PPE and follow safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components, load, unload, and operate Assembly machines
  • Visually inspect and assemble small components to quality standards
  • Use hand-held gages
  • Work with automatic transmission fluid
  • Safely perform all tasks assigned by Team Lead/Coordinator, including all positions in Assembly department
  • Safely operate all equipment in the Assembly department
  • Read and understand job aids/work instructions or follow oral instructions to execute component flow requirements
  • Manually load, unload, and maneuver materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves
  • Support 5S / Housekeeping activities
  • Use appropriate hold tags to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure
  • Perform SAP entries and transactions as needed
  • Adhere to standard work procedures to assemble units and contribute to development/continuous improvement
  • Perform required work steps within required cycle time
  • Wear all required PPE and follow safety protocols
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures
