Requirements
- Previous work or volunteer experience (assembly experience not required)
- Willingness and ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
- Willingness and ability to adapt to various operations
- Willingness and ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to constantly stand on concrete floors while retrieving parts/tools and completing tasks
- Ability to walk on concrete floors up to 80 feet frequently to constantly
- Ability to sit on scooter or creeper occasionally
- Ability to kneel occasionally
- Ability to squat frequently, including remaining in static squatted position occasionally
- Ability to climb stairs, platforms, and ladders up to 15 feet occasionally
- Ability to rotate and bend at the waist occasionally
- Ability to reach with hands/arms in any direction frequently, including sustained reaching occasionally while pushing/pulling up to 70 lbs
- Ability to lift 10-15 lbs. frequently
Responsibilities
- Work as a team, following work instructions to build Caterpillar machines (wheel loaders and motor graders)
- Assemble/test parts, components, or systems according to specified work orders
- Collaborate with support teams to make continuous improvements to the assembly process
- Utilize assembly tools and lifting devices to make work easier and safer
- Own the work, actively seeking to learn and improve for highest adherence to safety and quality
