High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Additional post-secondary education preferred (Technical or Vocational education in Industrial Engineering)
Previous work experience in industrial engineering preferred
Previous safety training preferred

Responsibilities
Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment (e.g., motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines) using hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring and testing instruments, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications
Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Inspect used parts for dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Adjust functional parts and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools
Install special functional and structural parts using hand tools
Start devices to test performance
Lubricate and clean parts
Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
Requisition supplies, materials, tools, machine parts, and other necessary equipment
Repair electrical equipment
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment
Perform bearing analysis and installation
Analyze electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings; install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electrical devices, systems, and power generation devices to prevent overload using amp probe, recording meter, and various tools
Weld various types of metal to repair or fabricate metal assemblies (e.g., racks, shelves, stands) using cutting torch, arc and gas welder, high-speed disk, grinders, files, etc
Perform preventive maintenance on uninterrupted power supply systems, generators, and air compressors using appropriate tools (e.g., hydrometer, voltmeter, amp meter, digital keypad)
Respond to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work area to perform emergency building or equipment repairs during off-duty hours using vehicle, telephone, hand/power/specialty tools, and materials
