Requirements

  • Educational background in a quantitative field - Masters degree or higher preferred
  • 3+ years of hands-on industry experience in an Applied Scientist, Data Scientist, or Research Scientist role, applying scientific methods to solve business problems
  • Industry demonstrated knowledge and skills in at least one of the following areas: Machine Learning or Deep Learning, particularly applied for time-series forecasting (e.g., LGBM, ARIMA, Prophet)

Responsibilities

  • Build innovative and impactful ML/Optimization systems for B2B logistics partners
  • Build various ML/DL forecasting models (demand, returns, lead-times)
  • Develop stochastic inventory optimization solutions
  • Create recommendation services that generate key insights for partners to make data-driven decisions about article assortment and inventory
  • Work in a cross-functional team with Applied Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers
  • Shape the product from day one by defining problems with product and user research, influencing the product roadmap, and identifying new opportunities
  • Solve complex scientific problems in stochastic inventory optimization, multi-echelon demand forecasting (including returns and lead-times), and recommender systems for assortment planning
  • Take end-to-end ownership from initial research and prototyping to production deployment, defining success metrics, collaborating with engineers for scalable services, and monitoring real-world impact on partner KPIs
  • Drive impact at a multi-merchant scale by building platform-level services across hundreds of diverse partners
