Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of the manufacturing of products
  • Expert knowledge of the Processing and Analytical batch work orders
  • Ability to assure regulatory compliance, meet production schedules, maintain high employee relations, satisfy customer service needs, and ensure budgetary/financial goals
  • Knowledge of key performance indicators and ability to develop, drive, and execute plans using team and support resources
  • Skills in financial management, including tracking, trending, and improving budgetary performance for overtime (OT), direct expenses, HPL, labor, year-over-year CIP, and material usage
  • Ability to initiate, manage, and make decisions impacting product quality
  • Experience in training, developing employees, creating learning environments, coaching, and directing teams/individuals to meet performance goals

Responsibilities

  • Active leadership to ensure major objectives are met: regulatory compliance, production schedules, employee relations, customer service, and budgetary/financial goals
  • Overall results accountability for a single shift in a 7-day multi-shift laboratory operation
  • Model and promote behaviors for high-quality product delivery, compliance with Abbott policies/procedures, local/statutory requirements, and regulatory requirements for export countries
  • Manage financial statements and budgetary responsibilities; share accountability for line budgetary decisions with direct manager
  • Develop plans and execute efforts to train/develop employees and improve laboratory capability
  • Create a learning environment and support individual learning/development plans
  • Coach and direct individuals/teams to meet performance goals/objectives
  • Directly supervise team and lead staff
