AI Tutor, Electrical Engineering Specialist (Contract, Remote)

Position Overview

As an AI Tutor, Electrical Engineering Specialist, you will play a crucial role in refining the understanding and accuracy of AI models. Your expertise in electrical engineering will be leveraged to review and correct AI-generated content across various domains, including electrical circuits, signal processing, embedded systems, power systems, and electromagnetics. This role is essential for enabling AI systems to interpret and respond to complex engineering queries with technical precision.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve AI-generated content within electrical and electronic engineering fields.
  • Evaluate the accuracy of model responses in areas such as analog/digital circuits, control systems, communications, and microelectronics.
  • Annotate and curate training data for Large Language Model (LLM) outputs related to electrical engineering.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to identify and address gaps, inaccuracies, or misleading content in AI outputs.
  • Apply engineering judgment to ensure high-quality and consistent model performance.

Requirements

  • Education: PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Alternatively: 3+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of core electrical engineering principles, system design, and signal analysis.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to assess complex technical material and provide constructive feedback.
    • Strong written communication skills, with an emphasis on clearly explaining technical concepts.
    • Independent, detail-oriented, and possess strong decision-making skills.

Bonus Areas of Expertise

  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE), PCB design, or FPGA programming.
  • Familiarity with control theory, power electronics, or IoT systems.
  • Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or curriculum development in electrical engineering.
  • Exposure to LLMs or AI-based educational tools.
  • Experience in model evaluation or annotation workflows.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new skills and evolving project requirements.
  • Personal device must support Windows 10 or macOS Big Sur 11.0 or later.
  • Reliable access to a smartphone.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $60/hr - $100/hr

Note: Compensation ranges are set based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location, candidate experience, and expertise.
