Requirements

  • Available for full-time, 40-hour work week on a hybrid basis in Cedar Rapids, IA office (combination of in-office and from home)
  • Able to commit to the internship period from January 2026 to August 2026 with a reduced course load

Responsibilities

  • REAL ASSETS DEBT:
  • Assist Loan Officers in the CML production department with deploying approximately $2 billion of capital into commercial real estate loans, including valuation of commercial properties using discounted cash flow analysis, market analysis, preparation of loan applications, and preparation of materials for loan committee presentations (e.g., identification of property and market risks and mitigating factors, summary of loan terms, location analysis, demographic information, photos, and aerials)
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls to communicate loan terms, negotiate applications, discuss market and borrower topics, and observe Loan Committee presentations
  • Assist Debt Asset Managers in the Real Assets Asset Management department with special borrower requests and troubled loans, including development of servicing action memos, lease reviews, development and implementation of loan workout strategies, discounted cash flow analysis, and other activities to manage loan assets throughout their life cycle
  • Maintain current information on loan management system, process annual property inspection reports, pull tax bills for portfolio loans, and assist with pulling and tracking borrower and property data
  • REAL ASSETS EQUITY:
  • Support Asset Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Real Estate Analysts in managing a $4.5 billion low-income housing portfolio, including analyzing and reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements, reviewing partnership and loan documents, consolidating data on new investments, and preparing site inspection forms
  • Participate in discussions with developer partners on construction, leasing, and/or operational performance
  • Assist the portfolio management team with investor due diligence and general portfolio management
  • Support the reporting team by ensuring accuracy of data in management systems and producing investor reporting
  • Participate in meetings
