Requirements

  • Dialysis Experience Required
  • RN CAP 2 criteria (entry level for new employees or advancement from CAP 1)
  • Registered Nurse license
  • Ability to perform physical demands of direct patient care (e.g., heavy lifting)
  • Completion of CAP requirements to maintain or advance

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify appropriate personnel
  • Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
  • Recognize and report variations from normal patient status to health team members
  • Direct and provide safe, effective patient care for assigned patients across modality-specific treatments
  • Assess daily patient care needs and collaborate with direct and ancillary staff
  • Initiate and coordinate communication with FKC, Non-FKC dialysis providers, and facility personnel for continuity of care
  • Implement, administer, monitor, and document intradialytic transfusions, notifying of adverse reactions
  • Administer medications as prescribed, documenting justification and effectiveness
  • Initiate and assist with emergency response measures
  • Serve as resource, leader, coach, mentor, and role model for employees
  • Provide specialized nursing care instructions to hospital/facility staff as needed
  • Assist in Outpatient facility on as-needed basis
  • Serve as Preceptor to new employees
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Comply with Fresenius Kidney Care policies, procedures, nursing standards, contractual agreements, and regulations
