Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into Clinical Advancement Program (CAP 1)
Willingness to complete paid training and CAP requirements to advance
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending over, and occasionally moving machines/equipment (with assistance)
Compliance with Fresenius Kidney Care policies, procedures, standards of nursing practice, contractual agreements, state and federal regulations

Responsibilities

Perform all essential functions under direction of Supervisor and with guidance from Educator, Preceptor, or in collaboration with another RN
Conduct ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify Supervisor, Physician, primary nurse, etc., as indicated
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Recognize and report patient status variations from normal to appropriate health team members (e.g., Supervisor, physician, facility primary Nurse)
Direct and provide safe, effective patient care for assigned patients as prescribed for modality-specific treatment procedures
Assess daily patient care needs and collaborate with direct and ancillary staff
Initiate and coordinate communication with FKC and Non-FKC dialysis providers and contracted facility personnel for continuity of care
Implement, administer, monitor, and document patient's response to prescribed intradialytic transfusions; notify physician and blood supplier of adverse reactions
Administer medications as prescribed, document justification and effectiveness
Initiate and assist with emergency response measures
Serve as resource for health care team; participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Provide specialized nursing care instruction to hospital/facility staff as per contract
Assist in Outpatient facility on as-needed basis
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
