Candidates must be licensed physicians (MD/DO) with at least 5 years of experience in a high-volume pediatric emergency department, inpatient, or urgent care setting. Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or general pediatrics with extensive pediatric emergency medicine experience is required, along with a North Carolina medical license and active DEA registration. Experience managing medically complex pediatric patients is essential, and bilingual Spanish skills are strongly desired, as is telehealth experience. Candidates should be passionate about technology in healthcare and addressing healthcare inequity, possess strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, and be willing to obtain licenses in additional states.
The Acute Care Pediatrician will provide full-time virtual acute care services, responding to patient needs and triaging care. This role involves collaborating with care teams, fostering trusting relationships with families, and virtually assisting mobile integrated care personnel during home visits. Responsibilities include overseeing Advanced Practice Providers, serving as a virtual attending physician, and participating in on-call coverage to support 24/7 operations.
