Knowledge of Individual Annuities and/or Life Insurance
Strong background in indexed products such as RILA or FIA preferred
Ability to lead complex projects and provide thought leadership to product development initiatives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with curiosity and initiative necessary to analyze product designs, risk, and other project results
Written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with management, actuarial, distribution, asset management, and others
Understanding of appropriate balance between market competitive position, regulatory constraints, system capabilities, profitability, investment guidelines, and risk appetite
Self-motivated and flexible; ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to operate effectively with ambiguity, including situations where no previous groundwork is established
Responsibilities
Lead product development initiatives and ideation for the Individual Annuity product line, including a wide array of fixed, variable, and indexed products
Lead product management activities including pricing updates, ongoing rate setting, new business modeling, and inforce monitoring
Manage both asset and liability assumptions of annuity products, utilizing experience studies, inforce projection models, and investment strategy optimization work
Leverage industry knowledge and enterprise partnerships to make informed recommendations regarding Individual Annuity product strategies
Provide work direction for product pricing efforts and make recommendations that consider the optimal balance between competitiveness and enterprise risk and return objectives
Collaborate across the organization to oversee project planning and implementation of new product solutions and changes to existing product suite, including coordination of distribution, marketing, actuarial, and operational resources to successfully launch new products
Provide complex and thorough analysis and recommendations to management in connection with our annuity product strategy
