Requirements

  • An undergrad degree or diploma in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Experience working effectively in AP role with three-way matching
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles including various data segments like Departments and Projects
  • Diligence and strong attention to detail
  • Curiosity and confidence to ask questions and seek clarity when needed
  • Generally tech savvy and quick learner of new software applications
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, including lookups and pivot tables
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to solve payment and invoice inquiries
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience with ERP and procurement systems an asset (preferably NetSuite and Coupa)

Responsibilities

  • Review, process, and match vendor invoices, credit notes, and receipts for multiple subsidiaries, ensuring all entries are accurate and follow the proper approval flow
  • Manage communication with internal teams and vendors by monitoring and responding to inquiries, reconciling statements, and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Applying vendor payments to invoices
  • Coding line level details such as department, account and project for employee reimbursements and credit card spend
  • Assist with period end closing procedures including: preparing journal entries and supporting working papers and reconciling AP subledger to general ledger
