Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience - public accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA (or CPA track) preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office with advanced excel skills and the ability to manipulate large data sets (VLOOKUP, Sum-Ifs, Pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting theory and application of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels
  • Problem solver with strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Familiarity with analytical process automation specifically Alteryx a plus
  • Working knowledge of Workday a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly financial close by preparing account schedules, submitting journal entries and working cross functionally with other internal stakeholders to obtain relevant information
  • Perform analytics on various income statement & balance sheet accounts to review monthly operating expenses and construction costs
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of applicable ledger accounts
  • Support the year-end financial statement audit and quarterly reviews including internal audit and SOX requests
  • Assist the Senior Manager in developing the processes and controls needed to operate effectively while managing risk
  • Support the Senior Manager with various ad-hoc analyses and management reporting, specifically performing and developing analytics on operating expenses on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Collaborate and formulate working relationships with cross-functional teams including Finance, Building Operations, Construction Operations and Legal within WeWork
