Requirements

  • Tertiary finance / accounting qualification
  • CA(SA) or eligible to register for CA (preferred)
  • Previous experience in financial accounting role with strong background in debtors
  • Experience in Medical, FMCG or related industry
  • Excellent Excel and spreadsheet experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles including debtors (IFRS9), inventory, and revenue recognition
  • Analytical skills including problem solving (preferred)
  • Experience as accountant in large organization / multinational, preferably manufacturing with inventory accounting (PPV, exposure reserves, fixed assets, standard costing) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end responsibilities and general accounting
  • Prepare and report periodic reports to Headquarters within deadlines
  • Monthly inventory reporting including PPV, GIT and reserves
  • Monthly revenue reporting
  • Evaluate and manage debtors cash allocations and customer held orders
  • Deliver timely reconciliations of accounts, investigate and resolve variances within timelines
  • Monitor and adjust credit limits in accordance with Abbott Global Credit Policy
  • Act as finance partner to commercial divisions
  • Ensure relevant Basic Operating Procedures are updated
  • Assist with and prepare reports for internal and external audits
  • Ensure strong internal controls are in place and maintained
  • Perform tasks related to internal and external audits within scope
