Requirements

  • Proficiency in math courses including Numbers and Operations (9th Grade), Graphs and Relationships (10th Summer), Algebra/Pattern and Structure (10th Fall), Trigonometry (10th Spring), Precalculus (11th Summer), and SAT Math (11th Fall), with skills in properties of numbers, expressions/equations/identities, ratios/rates/percentages, proportional reasoning, irrational numbers, linear/quadratic/exponential functions, graphing/modeling functions, systems of equations/inequalities, algebra with exponents/roots/rational expressions, 2D/3D geometry, coordinate geometry, triangle geometry/special triangles, trigonometric/inverse trig functions, radian measure/unit circle, graphing/modeling with sine/cosine, unit analysis, function notation/composition/inverses, graph characteristics/transformations, average rate of change, introduction to limits/derivatives/power rule, and digital SAT content
  • Ability to complete 10 hours of self-guided asynchronous instructor training prior to programming start
  • Availability for Instructor Orientation on 02/05, 5:30-8:00pm
  • Availability for synchronous online instruction Saturdays 8:45am-2:15pm on specified dates: February 21/28, March 7/21, April 4/11/18, May 2/9/16
  • Availability for asynchronous academic support, including hosting office hours, meeting with Student Advisor, and engaging with Scholars’ work on Wednesdays 6-7pm during select weeks (February 23-26, March 9-12, April 6-9/13-16/27-30, May 11-14 for 9-10th Grade)
  • Comfort with remote, bichronous online teaching via Zoom

Responsibilities

  • Co-teach three to four periods including ELA and Advisory; lead class independently when covering for another instructor
  • Follow provided lesson plans, meet lesson objectives, and abide by SEO’s criteria for rigorous instruction and student engagement
  • Learn and efficiently utilize instructional technologies including Brightspace (LMS), Nearpod, GSuit applications, and Zoom chat in a blended learning environment
  • Read, internalize, and practice content preparation for lessons
  • Implement rigorous college prep curriculum using a student-centered approach, promoting depth of understanding and skill acquisition as a coach and facilitator
  • Provide asynchronous academic support, host office hours, meet with Student Advisors, and engage with Scholars’ work
