Requirements

  • Proficiency in math courses such as Numbers and Operations (9th Grade), Graphs and Relationships (10th Grade), Algebra/Pattern and Structure (10th Grade), Trigonometry (10th Grade), Precalculus (11th Grade), or SAT Math (11th Grade), determined by self-reported proficiency and demo lesson
  • Ability to co-teach alongside Instructors, facilitate classroom instruction, teach mini lessons, organize small group and one-on-one instruction, and provide additional Scholar support
  • Availability for self-guided Asynchronous Instructor Training (10 hours, completed prior to programming start)
  • Availability for Instructor Orientations on 02/05, 5:30-8:00pm
  • Availability for Synchronous Online Instruction on Saturdays 8:45am-2:15pm: February 21, 28; March 7, 21; April 4, 11, 18; May 2, 9, 16
  • Availability for Asynchronous Academic Support, including hosting office hours, meeting with Student Advisor, and engaging with Scholars’ work asynchronously on Wednesdays 6-7pm during specified weeks (February 23-26, March 9-12, April 6-9, 13-16, 27-30, May 11-14)
  • Comfort with remote, bichronous online instruction via Zoom

Responsibilities

  • Co-teach three to four periods including ELA and Advisory; lead the class independently when covering for an absent instructor
  • Follow provided lesson plans, meet lesson objectives, and abide by SEO’s criteria for rigorous instruction and student engagement
  • Navigate and efficiently utilize instructional technologies such as Brightspace (Learning Management System), Nearpod, GSuit applications, and Zoom chat in a Blended Learning environment
  • Prepare content by reading provided materials
