Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of industrial maintenance or general maintenance work experience documented in work history, OR graduation from a maintenance training program, HVAC training program (vocational or trade school), or a degree in a related field (with documentation; no experience needed if graduated)
  • Able to work effectively under time constraints
  • Able to use measurement devices
  • Able to perform electrical and mechanical predictive and preventative maintenance as tasked
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule in a cold, wet, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 50 degrees
  • Physical requirements: stand, sit, use hands and fingers 67-100% of the time; walk, talk, hear 67-100% of the time; bend, squat, kneel 33-67% of the time; taste or smell 0-33% of the time; ascend/descend stairs 67-100% of the time; lift/move up to 45 lbs. 67-100% of the time, 50 lbs. 33-67% of the time, 100 lbs. 0-33% of the time; push/pull 300 lbs. 33-67% of the time (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Candidates previously employed by Tyson must have a minimum 180-day rehire waiting period and are limited to 3 times of employment

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company personnel safety, food safety, attendance, and GMP policies
  • Be proactive in daily plant operations, including setting up and/or breaking down
  • Work to maximize plant efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain product quality
  • Complete daily log sheets, communicate effectively, and proactively recognize and report unsafe conditions or mechanical concerns
  • Assist in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory
  • Accurately and consistently change out parts
  • Perform lubrication, conveyor belt repairs, power train & bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement, forklift & pallet jack maintenance
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment promptly
