Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months of machine or packing operator experience
  • Minimum of 6 months of continuous work in the last 3 years
  • Willing and able to be exposed to a cold/damp work environment with temperatures ranging from 28 to 42 degrees
  • Willing and able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs
  • Willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motions
  • Willing and able to stand, bend, reach overhead, and twist for long periods (8-12 hours a day on a hard floor)

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery to ensure continuous flow of product through the production process
  • Ensure proper ingredients/supplies are used on the line
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings as needed
  • Notify supervisor if machines require maintenance
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson's policies and procedures
  • For Raw Machine Operator: Combine various meat and raw ingredients to formulate stuff and deliver product to logs for the cook system
  • For Raw Machine Operator: Perform basic lubrication, inspection, adjustments, repairs, cleaning (CLAIRLEAN Manufacturing), and sanitation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through line-side problem solving
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
  • Operate a forklift and identify/act upon system-based error messages
  • Resolve jams and equipment malfunctions
  • Open and close work orders in the MES system; monitor, interpret, and resolve system alerts
  • For RTE Machine Operator: Monitor robotic pocket fill and supply line with film
  • For RTE Machine Operator: Monitor peeler, cook/chill system unload monitor
  • Maintain throughput, yield, quality, food safety, and personal safety to ensure supply of customer orders
  • Operate film lift and move 500lb film rolls
  • Identify potential product defects quickly
  • Safely resolve jams and equipment malfunctions
  • Identify material quality defects (e.g., film) and take appropriate action
  • Operate scales, weigh drafts of meat using bench-top scales for speed and weight accuracy
  • Operate handheld digital scanners
