2026 Summer Intern - Structural Engineering, Buildings/Facilities at TKDA

The position pays $20 - $24 an hour, with the final rate dependent upon your anticipated graduation date.

The position primarily works from the office in Bloomington or an assigned project site, with possible flexible or hybrid work arrangements in some instances.

Candidates must be undergraduates pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis, have strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to travel locally, and a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

TKDA's internship program is dedicated to learning and networking, fostering a structured summer experience with formal soft skills training where interns apply classroom knowledge to real projects alongside a multi-disciplined team.

Strong candidates will have previous experience or training with Revit and/or AutoCAD, general understanding of drafting techniques, previous coursework in steel and concrete design, and experience with structural analysis programs like MathCAD or RISA, in addition to meeting the required qualifications.
