ABET-accredited Bachelor's or higher in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a welding emphasis, Metallurgical and/or Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering with a welding emphasis, Welding and Fabrication Technology, or Weld Fabrication Technology Management (degree must be obtained before start)
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unrounded)
12 months or less of professional experience in this field (excluding internships)
Willing to travel and relocate domestically
Willing to work in-person Monday through Friday

Responsibilities

Participate in three 12-month rotations in various Caterpillar facilities in the United States as part of the Manufacturing Technology and Solutions team
Build welding and materials joining technical abilities in roles including (but not limited to): Research and Development, Facility Welding Engineering Support, Product Development, Analysis, Automation, and Supplier Quality Support
Apply analytical skills, initiate ideas, troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, problem-solve, and use critical thinking
Demonstrate knowledge of engineering principles, theory, and experience from projects, internships, or relevant work
Design and implement welding and fabrication processes that safely realize objectives or inventions in a manufacturing environment
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and quickly acquire and apply new skills and knowledge
Collaborate with others of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, and abilities
Use strong written and verbal communication skills
Participate in and contribute to an inclusive, constructive, and productive work environment, ensuring all team members’ contributions are recognized and valued
