Responsibilities

  • Provide Workplace Safety technical and regulatory advice, mentoring, instructing, and coaching to organizational leaders and employees
  • Assist site leadership in maintaining compliance with all GM Workplace Safety and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities for injury and risk reduction
  • Assess site performance and conformance to requirements, ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment
  • Collaborate with local site leadership to foster a culture of Workplace Safety
  • Coach and develop site employees to promote safety initiatives
  • Build partnerships with key personnel, including Non-Manufacturing Leadership, Human Resources, Industrial Hygiene, and Health Services
  • Investigate accidents and injuries
  • Create safety programs aimed at reducing injuries
  • Engage with local union representatives to address safety concerns
  • Review new equipment to ensure compliance to Health and Safety Design Standards
  • Aid in the safety training of employees
  • Facilitate safety-related meetings and safety committees
  • Manage and enhance the site’s safety SharePoint site by keeping content current
  • Create and deliver professional presentations effectively
