Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or technical training or equivalent
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
  • Able to certify to ASME Sect. IX and AWS qualifications
  • Capable of reading advanced blueprints and weld symbols
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and cranes
  • Able to occasionally work in confined spaces with limited access and heights
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job (e.g., layout, fit up, weld, operate machinery)

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shop drawings and travelers to layout and fabricate complex metal products
  • Weld in accordance with AWS, ASME and Customer specifications on carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy materials using internal shop drawings and/or customer prints
  • Read and understand basic blueprints for layout, fit up and weld
  • Use ATG’s work order/traveler documentation, material heat number tracing, weld maps, and Quality Management System
  • Perform x-ray quality welds on products fabricated from stainless steel, carbon steel and specialty alloys using certified processes (e.g., GTAW, FCAW, LBW)
  • Produce and use fixturing necessary to complete weldments/assemblies
  • Complete weldments with consideration of tolerances, shrinkage and warpage
  • Operate shop machinery (band saw, brake press, shear, drill press, plasma cutter, etc.)
  • Advanced polishing to meet desired surface finish requirements
  • Layout hole patterns, penetrations, brake lines etc
  • Operate and/or learn operation of capacitive discharge weld stud machines
  • Perform various assembly tasks
  • Provide direction to project coordinators, QA, engineering personnel, and shop personnel to organize and prioritize tasks for on-time and on-budget project completion
