Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance
  • Experience in maintenance of water treatment and distribution facilities, tractor backhoe, farm-type tractors, farm implements, front-end loader, motor grader, and landscape maintenance equipment
  • Good reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Good scientific and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read, interpret, and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, and other equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to carry out verbal instructions

Responsibilities

  • Participate in day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of drinking water treatment and distribution systems
  • Perform work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures
  • Participate in an “on call” rotation for system coverage outside normal workday hours, including weekends
  • Respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed
  • Conduct daily process monitoring to maintain 100% compliance
  • Utilize a comprehensive maintenance system for the system's components (12 groundwater wells, 2 purchased water interconnects, 165 miles of pipelines, nearly 10,000 water services, 6 reservoirs, 3 booster pump stations, 1 drinking water treatment plant, 3-zone distribution system)
