Requirements

  • Use of shop math together with complicated specifications, charts, and tables
  • Prefer training applicable in specialized field, equivalent to 1-3 year’s technical training
  • Ability to work independently, using considerable judgment to make broad decisions with minimum supervision
  • Willingness and attitude to work as a team member, communicate with others to resolve problems, and maintain good working relationships
  • Ability to perform necessary computer transactions in various computer applications and software programs
  • Commitment to work safely at all times and comply with safety regulations regarding protective equipment and devices

Responsibilities

  • Notify proper person to replenish and inventory chemicals for supplies for rack and barrel and plating lines
  • Make necessary analysis, dumps, and additions to plating lines; perform daily testing of plating fluids
  • Troubleshoot all plating and water treatment problems as they arise and correct them
  • Monitor all controls on plating lines; perform daily checklist and environmental checks; check for deterioration of tanks, valves, racks, leaks, barrels
  • Perform start-up and shut down of equipment and plating systems
  • Operate barrel line and/or stripping line as time allows
  • Wear proper protective equipment/clothing when working with hazardous materials or chemicals
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance on equipment as required
  • Ensure all Government standards and regulations are met
  • Keep work area, equipment, machines, storage areas clean and orderly at all times
  • Offer suggestions to improve work process, procedures, productivity, job safety, or quality of work environment
  • Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed by Team Lead, Manager, or other designated person
  • Notify Team Lead, Manager, Safety Manager, or Environment Manager immediately in the event of a chemical spill or waste treatment upset
