Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in multiple warehouse/distribution center functions, including Inbound, Production, Packing, and Shipping
  • 5+ years of strong supervisory skills to lead, mentor, and motivate employees
  • Excellent social skills to relate well to employees, peers, and management, and a strong customer orientation
  • QAD experience highly preferred
  • Experience with Change Management
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English
  • Outstanding leadership aligned with Thermo Fisher values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, Involvement)
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a small warehouse in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staff and workload to meet or exceed distribution efficiency standards for Receiving, Put Away, Packing, Shipping, or Inventory Control
  • Develop daily work schedules based on workload demands and coordinate warehouse activities for smooth workflow
  • Maintain acceptable warehouse metrics, including safety performance, quality assurance, operation lead times, timely shipments, and shippable backorders
  • Partner with planning and production personnel on the flow and organization of materials
  • Ensure high levels of customer service with other departments and provide timely feedback on issues and material availability
  • Adhere to and promote safety policies and practices
  • Track and respond to material shortages from the manufacturing floor
  • Supervise staff in alignment with company values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
  • Directly supervise employees, including recruitment, performance management, and training
  • Develop and empower employees through effective communication
