Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in production backend and video engineering using Golang, C, C++, or similar languages, with a proven track record of contributing to significant projects. A strong understanding of general-purpose programming languages, distributed systems, and application design with reliability and scale in mind is essential. Prior experience with technologies like Go, C, C++, ffmpeg/libav, HLS, DASH, or fMP4 is a plus, and a CS degree is preferred.
The Video Software Engineer will collaborate with the team on technical roadmaps and product goals, build foundations for future media products and features, and develop and evolve the transcoding platform to support new capabilities. Responsibilities include working on encoding a wide variety of video at scale, designing, maintaining, and building services and video processing tooling, and ensuring features meet reliability and performance requirements in collaboration with platform and video delivery teams.
