Requirements

  • At least 7 years of financial services experience
  • Strong understanding of Financial Markets
  • Solid understanding of Corporate Actions and Income (preferred)
  • Knowledge of reconciliation mechanics, cash and position reconciliations, exception management, equities, fixed income, OTC derivatives (swaps, swaptions, FXs, synthetics, collateral)
  • Ability to oversee risk and exposure, verify investment book of record against external prime record holders daily
  • Experience managing people, including coaching, developing staff, leading, motivating, goal-setting, 1-1s, mid-year, and year-end reviews

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of people management: coaching and developing staff, leading and motivating them, conducting goal-setting, 1-1s, mid-year, and year-end reviews
  • Contribute to Global Cash Ops, Asset Reconciliation, and wider Business Operations planning
  • Key contributor to management team: ensure appropriate staffing model, depth charts, and succession plans across the location
  • Review location initiatives and work with leadership team to define criticality and priority
  • Review cash and position exceptions daily to ensure team raises and resolves them appropriately
  • Identify, lead, and mitigate operational risks; raise risk and service issues timely
  • Understand and adhere to all regulatory requirements
  • Lead and empower team to find opportunities for process enhancements and strategic operational improvements to facilitate processes or mitigate risk
  • Accurately record metrics related to responsibilities for management visibility on team productivity and efficiency
  • Embrace change and participate/lead efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation/standardization, cost/benefit analysis, and project value computation
  • Understand upstream processes impacting reconciliation and correlate effects of change
  • Build and maintain strong interactions with key internal & external partners; lead & coordinate problem resolution
  • Embrace BlackRock Principles and role model them to team members
  • Advise regional team, comprehend all reconciliation procedures, guarantee discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly, investigate and resolve underlying causes
  • Work closely with US and APAC colleagues and partner with technology for improvements, operational changes, and enhancements
