Requirements

Credentialed Veterinary Technician with 2+ years of experience, or any experience in ER/ICU setting
Strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills to daily work
Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral
Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in technician protocols
Demonstrate reliability and follow-through with all work-related tasks/projects

Responsibilities

Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
Provide all technical support to primary emergency veterinarian
Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients including critical care patients
Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling, and free catch urine
Perform various laboratory procedures including blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following radiation safety protocols
Properly use and maintain medical equipment
Provide professional client communication
