A solid understanding of media law, sourcing best practices, and ethical journalism is required, as is fluency with AI-assisted workflows and the ability to critically edit and verify AI outputs.
The U.S. News Reporter will produce multiple articles daily, including AI-assisted stories, and pitch original ideas and develop exclusives by securing quotes, obtaining documents, and advancing stories. They will respond quickly to breaking news, contribute to live blogs, and apply sound editorial judgment and rigorous fact-checking to ensure accuracy and journalistic integrity. Responsibilities also include leveraging AI tools to boost reporting efficiency, collaborating with editors and other teams to package stories with multimedia elements, and ensuring high-quality, accurate, and fair reporting.
