Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
5+ years of compliance experience in transaction monitoring, financial crime management, AML investigations, or relevant experience
AICB, CAMS or CFE certifications (strongly preferred)
Process-oriented with meticulous attention to detail and deep investigative skills
Well-honed written and verbal communication skills
Bank or fintech experience (strongly preferred)
Proven track record of managing personal performance against objective targets
Experience using data and analytics to make decisions
People leadership experience, including managing a team of analysts (a plus)
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL (preferred)
Natural leader with strong leadership skills to influence and motivate others
Process-driven, creating efficient and well-documented workflows
Team player who can work independently
Master prioritizer able to assess and order tasks
Investigative and curious nature to dive deeper into problems
Ability to ask the right questions and make risk-based decisions

Responsibilities

Understand the regulatory landscape and compliance requirements to improve investigations and rules
Analyse and investigate patterns and trends
Manage SLAs and deadlines to meet team and company goals
Act as the point of escalation and handle stakeholder management
Conduct investigations on suspicious transactions
Ensure adherence to local and global compliance policies and procedures
Take a data-driven approach to problem solving
Handle special projects and ad hoc requests, including deep dives on issues
Lead and inspire a team of transaction monitoring analysts, including local and remote members
Drive standards in transaction monitoring and sanctions screening through TM risk assessment, rule tuning, segmentation, and profiling
Develop and apply a comprehensive understanding of AML/CTF related functions
