Requirements

  • Ability to work PRN (as needed, M-F, no set hours or consistent days, not on-call)
  • Knowledge of empirically supported therapeutic techniques (e.g., CBT, DBT, family therapy)
  • Experience working in acute care settings (inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient)
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments
  • Proficiency in developing individualized treatment plans
  • Adherence to ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, State, etc.)
  • Professional conduct and ability to receive feedback productively
  • Knowledge of mandatory reporting for abuse/neglect per state law and system policy
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education

Responsibilities

  • Lead collaboration among interdisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, and facilitate direct social services interventions for patients and support systems
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions
  • Assess patients' needs to identify mental health concerns, strengths, and challenges
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and guide implementation of clinical interventions, including facilitating treatment team meetings
  • Provide counseling and support using evidence-based techniques to manage symptoms and improve well-being
  • Educate patients on mental health/substance use conditions, self-care, treatment options, costs/benefits of engagement, and aftercare plans
  • Document patient progress, sessions, goals, and interventions within required timeframes
  • Collaborate with internal/external professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, social workers, case managers) for coordinated care
  • Report and document suspected physical, sexual abuse, and/or neglect per law and policy
  • Participate in clinical initiatives, projects, activities, committees, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support changes in staffing/scheduling as needed for program and patient care
  • Ensure patient and facility safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining knowledge of processes, protocols, and pursuing self-directed learning
