Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology or social work
  • Must have an active NJ license (LAC, LSW, LMFT, LPC, LCSW) or be in process of obtaining it
  • Must have a minimum of one year of experience working with children and families, particularly families involved with the child welfare system and/or affected by trauma
  • Strong knowledge of child development, attachment, and behavioral health needs
  • Ability to facilitate positive interactions and work collaboratively with families
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Previous experience working with DCP&P or similar agencies is a plus
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a supportive team to enhance parent-child interactions and attachment, ensuring the safety and emotional well-being of children
  • Address behavioral health needs and empower parents to meet their children’s physical, developmental, and emotional needs through meaningful visits
  • Conduct biopsychosocial intake assessments to determine family strengths, needs, and create tailored visit plans
  • Ensure the safety of children by modeling appropriate interactions between parents and children during visits
  • Facilitate collaborative visit planning meetings with parents, visit participants, and relevant stakeholders to align on goals and strategies
  • Implement evidence-based services and adjust intervention strategies as needed to align with family goals
  • Collaborate with peers, DCP&P, and other community providers to ensure continuity of care and support for the family
  • Complete necessary documentation in line with program and agency requirements
