Study.com is seeking a skilled and dynamic SEO-focused Test Prep Writer to join our team as a contractor. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker, developing engaging, data-driven content for a U.S.-based audience.

Project Description

The core of this role involves researching and writing about education-related topics for a U.S.-based audience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Seamlessly incorporating marketing claims and product descriptions into copy.
  • Creating outlines for articles based on research and/or a content brief.
  • Incorporating keywords while maintaining high readability.
  • Evaluating competitors to ensure content can outperform them in search rankings.
  • Writing unique copy for every article.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience writing SEO content.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
  • Demonstrated success in researching and publishing content.
  • Experience optimizing content for both user experience and search engine performance (on-page SEO).
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Contentful, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks across multiple assignments.
  • Availability to work at least 2 hours of overlap with the 1 PM – 8 PM Pacific Standard Time window.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Prior work experience in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with supportive SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Canva.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on assigned topics.
  • Edit published articles.
  • Outline and write new articles.
  • Incorporate keywords effectively.
  • Evaluate competitor content.
  • Maintain high readability standards.
