Requirements

Candidates must possess a Medical Degree and General registration with AHPRA, with no restrictions or conditions, and must have limited or provisional registration not accepted. They should also hold full working rights within Australia, possess an Authorised Prescriber (AP) license for medicinal cannabis (highly regarded but not mandatory), have medical indemnity insurance covering telehealth and prescribing for schedule 8 medications, including medical cannabis, be able to obtain a Medicare Provider Number, and be based in Australia. Additionally, they need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced and agile environment and be available to work a minimum of 15.2 hours per week.

Responsibilities

As a Telehealth Medical Practitioner, the individual will conduct Telehealth consultations via Amazon Connect and prescribe alternative treatment plans to patients for a spectrum of physical and mental conditions, influencing both patient outcomes and clinical satisfaction. They will also contribute to shaping the evolving healthcare landscape by developing clinical insights, setting industry benchmarks, and influencing regulatory standards that define patient care, and provide comprehensive training and support to patients and the Alternaleaf team.
