Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science or EE with 4-6 years directly related practical experience, or Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Solid grounding and mastery of fundamental theories of engineering related to mission critical servers and systems
  • Foundational understanding of Linux, hardware interfaces (PCIe, I2C, SPI), and passion for building resilient systems
  • Exposure to Linux-based system bring-up, preferably in lab and/or data center server environments
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as PCIe, I2C, SPI, and USB
  • Hands-on experience with servers, hardware network traffic generators, thermal chambers, and lab equipment (plus)
  • Understanding of environmental and reliability standards (NEBS, GR-487, GR-63, GR-3108, ETSI)
  • Prior internship or coursework involving firmware, BIOS, or low-level driver development
  • Experience with Linux environment programming and scripting languages (C, Python, Bash) for testing and infrastructure automation, in-house toolsets, and systems telemetry
  • Interest in telco-grade systems, edge compute platforms, or ruggedized hardware deployments
  • Applied experience and familiarity with HPE servers (serious plus)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across hardware and software boundaries
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting
  • Ability to read schematics and interpret hardware datasheets
  • Familiarity with version control systems (plus)
  • Clear written and verbal communication, especially for documenting test results and system behavior

Responsibilities

  • Assist in integrating and testing each new generation of high-reliability hardware platforms that meet stringent “Carrier Grade” systems operability standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable BIOS, firmware, and OS-level support for telco-grade systems
  • Hands-on bring-up of new platforms
  • Debugging hardware-software interactions
  • Deriving optimization tuning profiles that achieve a power and performance balance
  • Functional assurance testing and performance benchmarking of pre-release systems
  • Contributing to automation frameworks for testing, system validation, and telemetry
