Candidates should possess 4+ years of experience in technical software writing and editing, demonstrating superb written communication skills and outstanding grammar. They must have experience writing in Markdown and utilizing version control systems like Git, GitHub, or GitLab, including command-line tools. Previous experience with docs-as-code and static site generators is required, along with familiarity with at least one programming language, even if not in a professional context.
The Technical Writer will create technical written material to help users understand and realize the value of Semgrep, write and edit documentation for new or updated Semgrep features, transform draft content from subject matter experts into digestible information for users, help maintain and improve internal technical writing style guidelines, assist in maintaining Semgrep’s open source documentation (Docusaurus), and understand usage data to inform documentation improvements and roadmap.
